Here I write about the traditions of lamentation and mourning in Lebanon, specifically of the Maronite practices. I dive into the gender divide of grief in Lebanon and how it derives from historical patriarchy. This piece is dear to me and shows the customs of sorrow I have experienced as a young Middle Eastern woman.

During days of being in lockdown, I finally found time to work on my love for poetry. I wrote this poem called Chaos which is an ode to my identity.
